Wheels India Q1 Net Profit Jumps 42% to Rs 37 Crore

Chennai-based auto parts manufacturer Wheels India Limited reported a 42 per cent year-on-year increase in net profit for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, reaching Rs 37 crore on the back of strong topline growth across its business segments.
The company had recorded a net profit of Rs 26 crore during the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
Revenue from operations for the auto components manufacturer rose 17 per cent during the April-June quarter, climbing to Rs 1,386 crore compared with Rs 1,187 crore posted in the same period a year earlier.
Export operations contributed significantly to the financial performance, growing 17 per cent to Rs 380 crore in the first quarter of FY27. This was an increase from the Rs 324 crore registered in export revenues during the matching quarter of the previous year. The company attributed this surge in overseas sales primarily to strong international demand for construction equipment wheels.
Evaluating the performance, Srivats Ram, Chairman and Managing Director of Wheels India Ltd, said that company sales grew along with the domestic market for cars, trucks, and agriculture tractors, which continued their momentum post GST 2.0 reforms.
In addition to domestic market momentum, Ram noted that the company experienced strong growth in the export of construction equipment wheels. He also highlighted operational challenges during the period, stating that there were strong inflationary pressures on material costs due to the West Asia crisis.
Looking ahead to the upcoming period, Ram stated on the company's outlook that Wheels India expects its overall growth momentum to continue into the second quarter.
