Trisha Sits With CM Vijay's Family at Independence Day Event in Fort St George

Actress Trisha Krishnan was seated in the front row alongside Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay’s family during Tamil Nadu’s official Independence Day celebrations at Fort St George on Saturday.

Dressed in a yellow saree, Trisha sat with Vijay’s parents as the state marked the occasion. During the ceremonial proceedings, she was seen saluting Vijay as he hoisted the national flag and reviewed the parade.

Her appearance at the venue marked the second major government function where she was seen alongside the Chief Minister’s family. Nearly three months earlier, Trisha attended Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony held on May 10 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

At the May 10 oath-taking event, Trisha and her mother were seated with Vijay’s parents. Visuals from that ceremony showed her greeting Vijay’s mother, Shobha Chandrasekhar, as well as his sister, and embracing members of his family.

Her presence with the family across both key state events has drawn public attention during the administration's initial months.

Saturday's event also marked Vijay’s maiden Independence Day address as Chief Minister from Fort St George. In his speech, Vijay spoke on the state government's key policy priorities, emphasising measures to tackle corruption and protect the rights of Tamil Nadu.
