TNSTC to Run Special Buses From Kilambakkam, Koyambedu for Krishna Jayanthi

The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) will operate additional buses from Chennai termini, including Kilambakkam, Koyambedu, and Madhavaram, between September 3 and September 6 to manage travel demand during the Krishna Jayanthi long weekend.

With Krishna Jayanthi falling on a Friday followed by the regular weekend holidays, transport authorities anticipate a major surge in passengers heading to their native towns and tourist destinations across Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states.

From the Kilambakkam bus terminus, TNSTC will operate 910 special buses on September 3. These services will connect passengers to Thiruvannamalai, Tiruchi, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and Tirupur. The corporation will follow this with 740 buses on September 4 and 880 buses on September 5 along the same routes.

Services from the Koyambedu bus terminus will cover routes to Thiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru. TNSTC will operate 210 buses on September 3, followed by 210 buses each on September 4 and September 5 from Koyambedu.

At the Madhavaram terminus, the transport corporation has scheduled 95 buses each day across the three-day period from September 3 to September 5. Outside Chennai, an additional 200 buses will be operated over these three days connecting Bengaluru, Tirupur, Erode, and Coimbatore to various destinations.

For the return journey to Chennai, TNSTC has scheduled 805 buses on September 6 from different parts of the state. According to a TNSTC press release, the schedule has been shared in advance so commuters can reserve tickets early and avoid last-minute rush and travel inconvenience.
