TNSCST Member Secretary S. Vincent Selected for AASTEA Leadership Award

S. Vincent, the member secretary of the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST), has been chosen to receive the Association of Agricultural Technology in Southeast Asia (AASTEA) Outstanding Leadership Award 2024 in Education and Research.

The Bangkok-based association conveyed the honour in an invitation letter, asking him to attend the 14th International Conference on Integration of Science and Technology for Sustainable Development 2026. The conference is scheduled to be held in Vietnam in December 2026, where he will formally be presented with the award.

A biologist by training, Professor Vincent previously served as the Dean of Research at Loyola College in Chennai before taking up his role with the State council.

In his current capacity at the TNSCST, he steered the council towards the promotion of intellectual property rights and patent filing across Tamil Nadu.

Following those initiatives, the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, designated the TNSCST as a Nodal Centre for facilitating Geographical Indication-related matters for other State councils.
