Police Pause Vijay's Jana Nayagan Screening in Chennai Over Children's Presence

Police in Chennai intervened to pause a screening of Thalapathy Vijay’s film "Jana Nayagan" on Sunday after finding children inside the cinema auditorium. The film has been granted an 'A' certificate by authorities, meaning it is strictly meant for adult audiences and children are not permitted to attend the show under any circumstances.

The disruption took place during a scheduled screening on Sunday when police personnel entered the hall after spotting children seated among the moviegoers. A movie buff who witnessed the incident captured video footage and shared details on social media, stating that the screening was abruptly paused for 10 minutes while police addressed the presence of minors inside the hall.

According to the social media update posted by the theatre visitor, the screening remained on hold until the families accompanied by children packed up and left the auditorium. Once all the families had exited the theatre premises, the police allowed the management to restart the projection, and the movie resumed for the remaining adult audience.

Following the removal of the families from the hall, the theatre management made an announcement to offer refunds to the affected patrons who had to leave the screening prematurely with their children due to the strict enforcement of the 'A' certification rules.

"Jana Nayagan" is directed by filmmaker H. Vinoth and features a high-profile cast led by Thalapathy Vijay. The movie also stars Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, and Mamitha Baiju in pivotal roles.

Despite the brief delay caused by the police intervention on Sunday, "Jana Nayagan" continues its strong theatrical run. The film has been performing well in theatres across regions and is rapidly inching closer to joining the Rs 200 crore club, a financial benchmark it is likely to reach by the conclusion of its opening weekend.
