M K Stalin Returns to Chennai After 14-Day England Trip Following Flight Delay

Former chief minister M K Stalin returned to Chennai on Sunday night, receiving a rousing reception at the Chennai airport after completing a 14-day tour of England. The former chief minister's return occurred just one day before the upcoming Parliament session was scheduled to commence.

Stalin had traveled to England alongside his family to attend the graduation ceremony of his grandson, Inban Udhayanidhi.

The journey back to Tamil Nadu was marked by significant travel delays. Stalin and his family were originally scheduled to land at the Chennai airport on Sunday morning. However, a delay with their initial flight out of London caused them to miss their scheduled connecting flight in Dubai.

DMK sources confirmed that due to the missed connection in Dubai, Stalin and his family had to board a different aircraft to complete the final leg of their journey. This transit adjustment delayed their arrival in Chennai by several hours, pushing their landing from the morning into the night.

The delay directly impacted the plans of local party supporters. A large crowd of DMK cadres and party functionaries had assembled at the airport on Sunday morning to welcome Stalin back to the city. Following the news of the flight delay, these supporters had to leave the airport disappointed.

Despite the setback, the supporters returned to the airport later in the day. The same crowd of cadres and functionaries gathered back at the terminal on Sunday evening to await the rescheduled flight.

When Stalin finally arrived on Sunday night, he was greeted by the waiting crowd alongside several prominent party figures. Among the senior DMK leaders present at the airport to receive him were former ministers K N Nehru, R Gandhi, K Ponmudi, and S Muthusamy.
