KRAFTON India Partners With IIT Madras to Launch KIGI Academy for Game Development

KRAFTON India has partnered with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) to launch KIGI Academy, a new industry-academia initiative aimed at developing a game development talent ecosystem.
The initiative offers IIT-M students immersive, hands-on exposure across the full spectrum of game creation. The curriculum covers multiple core disciplines, including coding, game design, user interface and user experience (UI/UX) design, art, and product development.
The six-month, fully funded programme is structured into two separate phases. It begins with a four-month on-site learning phase hosted directly on the IIT-M campus, providing foundational and practical instruction.
Following the campus module, the programme transitions into an advanced two-month immersive residency held at KRAFTON India’s headquarters in Bengaluru.
Admissions are open to the students of IIT-M through a structured selection process. A total of 30 students will be admitted into the academy, with 10 of those participants ultimately selected to advance to the Bengaluru residential phase.
