Horse handler detained for alleged sexual assault of child at Marina Beach

The Mylapore All Women Police Station has detained a 15-year-old horse handler for the alleged sexual assault of a six-year-old girl at Marina Beach on Saturday night.

The incident occurred when the young victim visited the beach with her family. While spending time at Marina Beach, the child spotted the teenage handler and his horse near the service road. The girl expressed a desire to go on a horse ride, prompting her family to request the 15-year-old boy to take her.

According to police reports, the family waited near the service road, expecting the ride to take place nearby. However, the teenage handler took the girl on the horse toward the seashore, moving nearly 400 meters away into a dark area.

When the handler eventually returned with the child, the girl was crying continuously. She immediately reported to her family that the teenager had sexually assaulted her during the ride.

The revelation enraged the victim's family and nearby passers-by, who confronted the teenager. The crowd then began to attack the boy on the spot. The confrontation ended when the owner of the horse arrived at the scene and rescued the teenage handler from the crowd.

Following the rescue, the girl’s family proceeded to the Mylapore All Women Police Station to file an official complaint. The police subsequently took the teenager into custody, sent him for a medical examination, and detained him.
