Four Men Rob Steel Firm Supervisor of Rs 18.8 Lakh at Knifepoint in Korattur

A 45-year-old supervisor employed at a private steel company was robbed of ₹18.8 lakh at knifepoint on 2nd Main Road in TNHB Colony, Korattur, on Saturday.
The victim, identified as Ranjith Kumar, a resident of MMDA Colony in Arumbakkam, was returning to his workplace on his two-wheeler after collecting the company cash when he was targeted by four unidentified assailants.
According to the police, the incident occurred after the owner of the private steel firm, 40-year-old Umar Farooq, instructed Ranjith Kumar on Saturday to collect ₹18.8 lakh from Farooq's brother located in Padi.
Ranjith Kumar collected the ₹18.8 lakh in cash and was riding back towards the steel company in Korattur on his two-wheeler. While he was traveling along 2nd Main Road in TNHB Colony, four men riding on two motorcycles intercepted his vehicle and forced him to stop.
The four unidentified men threatened Ranjith Kumar with a knife, seized the money, and fled the scene with the stolen cash on their motorcycles.
Following the robbery, Ranjith Kumar lodged an official complaint with the Korattur police station. Police officials stated that a case has been registered and further investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
