Class 11 Student Stabbed in Neck in Cuddalore for Rejecting Advances, Suspect Absconds

A 16-year-old Class 11 student is battling for her life after a man allegedly entered her house and stabbed her in the neck on Sunday at her residence in Keezhamoongiladi village in Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu. The violent attack took place after the teenager repeatedly rejected the romantic advances of an electrician identified as Iyappan.

According to police, Iyappan was previously known to visit the girl's home to carry out electrical repair work. During these visits, he allegedly developed an infatuation for the minor student. A police official stated that Iyappan had approached the girl on several occasions to make romantic proposals, but she had consistently turned him down each time.

On Sunday, Iyappan allegedly took advantage of the absence of the girl's mother, who had gone to work at a textile shop. Knowing that the teenager was alone inside the residence, Iyappan allegedly entered the house. When the girl rejected his advances once again, Iyappan allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked her, inflicting a deep wound to her neck before fleeing the spot.

The injured teenager's cries for help alerted nearby neighbours, who rushed to the house upon hearing the commotion. The neighbours immediately called an ambulance to transport the victim for medical treatment. She was taken to the Chidambaram Government Hospital, where doctors reported that her medical condition remains critical.

In the wake of the incident, the Chidambaram Taluk police registered a case and launched a search operation to track down and apprehend Iyappan, who remains absconding.
