Chromepet law student arrested for uploading morphed obscene photos of fellow student

The Shankar Nagar All Women Police have arrested a 23-year-old final-year law student residing in Chromepet for allegedly creating and uploading morphed obscene images of a fellow student and several other women on social media. The suspect was apprehended after a female student from the same private law college in Pallavaram discovered her altered photograph online and reported the matter.

According to the police, the victim filed a formal complaint after finding that an obscene morphed version of her photograph was being circulated on various social media platforms. Following the complaint, the Pallavaram police registered a First Information Report (FIR) and initiated a detailed investigation into the source of the digital media.

The local police worked in coordination with the cyber crime wing to track the digital footprint of the circulated images. The joint investigation successfully traced the origin of the obscene file directly to a mobile phone belonging to the suspect, identified as Kaleeswaran.

Once the origin of the image was established, the case was officially transferred to the Shankar Nagar All Women Police for further action. The officers subsequently located and arrested Kaleeswaran. During the arrest, the police seized his mobile phone, which was immediately sent for a detailed forensic examination.

The forensic analysis of the seized mobile device revealed a large cache of objectionable material. Investigators discovered multiple morphed obscene images of various women. Among the victims whose photographs had been altered were fellow college students, faculty members from the law college, and a few of Kaleeswaran's own relatives, including his nieces.

The police investigation also confirmed that some of these newly discovered morphed images had already been uploaded and shared across different social media platforms.

Following the conclusion of the initial inquiry, the police team took Kaleeswaran to the Tambaram Government Hospital to undergo a standard medical examination. After the medical checkup, he was produced before a magistrate court in Tambaram, which remanded him in judicial custody.
