Avalon Technologies Forms Joint Venture With Zollner Elektronik for PCB Assembly

Chennai-based Avalon Technologies has formed a joint venture with European electronics manufacturing services firm Zollner Elektronik AG to carry out printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) and box-build manufacturing in India. The company announced the partnership in regulatory exchange filings on Thursday.

Under the terms of the agreement, Zollner will hold a 51% controlling stake in the venture, while Avalon will hold the remaining 49%. The entity will cater to clients across multiple sectors, including healthcare and life sciences, rail transportation, and other industrial verticals.

According to the company, the partnership provides Zollner with immediate access to manufacturing capacity within India to support the local operations of its global clientele. While the joint venture will initially direct its focus toward serving the domestic operations of existing customers, it also plans to expand operations to serve overseas markets in the future.

The venture will initially be established as a wholly owned subsidiary of Avalon Technologies, after which Zollner will acquire its 51% stake. Avalon will also retain an option to acquire an additional 2% stake in the business at a later stage.

Avalon described the partnership as strategically significant as Indian electronics manufacturing services companies increasingly collaborate with international players to strengthen domestic capabilities in critical components such as printed circuit boards.
