20-Year-Old Food Delivery Executive Hacked to Death in Washermenpet

A 20-year-old food delivery executive, who was also a history-sheeter, was hacked to death by a four-member gang near his house in Washermenpet, Chennai, late on Sunday night. The victim, identified as Ajay, was intercepted and attacked at around 11:30 PM while returning home, in what local police suspect to be a crime motivated by previous enmity.

According to the police, Ajay was returning to his residence on his motorcycle after meeting a friend. A four-member gang of attackers, who were allegedly waiting near his house, blocked his path. When Ajay attempted to escape from the spot, the gang chased him.

The attackers blocked his path, assaulted him with sharp-edged weapons, and fled the scene immediately, leaving Ajay with fatal injuries. Local residents who witnessed the violent attack rushed the victim to the Government Stanley Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The Washermenpet police subsequently recovered Ajay's body and sent it for a post-mortem examination. Police records state that Ajay was classified as a 'C' category history-sheeter and was previously involved in three criminal cases. He was also working as a food delivery executive.

The Washermenpet police have registered a murder case and launched an active search for the attackers. Investigators are currently examining CCTV footage from the locality, questioning eyewitnesses, and collecting other physical evidence to identify and arrest the four suspects.
