15 Schoolkids Injured as Van Collides With Bus Near Paiyanur

Fifteen private school students were injured on Monday morning after the van they were travelling in collided with a university bus near Paiyanur in Chengalpattu district. According to the police, the students were on their way to a private college to take part in a sports competition when the collision occurred.

The impact of the crash damaged the side of the van, leaving several of the school children trapped inside the vehicle. Local residents rushed to the spot immediately following the collision to help rescue the trapped students from the wreckage.

In addition to the 15 school students, the university bus driver and three other people sustained injuries in the incident. All the injured individuals were taken to government and private hospitals for treatment. Police stated that all the injured are in stable condition and out of danger.

The accident caused brief traffic congestion in the area before the damaged vehicles were removed from the road. The Thiruporur police have registered a case regarding the accident, and a further probe into the incident is ongoing.
