WABAG Q1 Net Profit Rises 37% to Rs 90 Crore as Order Book Hits Record Rs 19,400 Crore

Chennai-headquartered water technology firm VA Tech WABAG reported a 37 percent year-on-year growth in its consolidated profit after tax to Rs 90.1 crore for the first quarter of FY27, up from Rs 65.8 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. The profit growth was driven by robust revenue expansion and strong order inflows across international and domestic markets.

The company reported a 21 percent increase in consolidated revenue from operations for the quarter, reaching Rs 887 crore compared to Rs 734 crore in the year-ago period. Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) rose 22 percent to Rs 116.3 crore. On a standalone basis, WABAG’s net profit grew 30 percent to Rs 79 crore, while standalone revenue increased 15 percent to Rs 739 crore.

During the quarter, WABAG secured new project orders worth Rs 3,400 crore. This surge in fresh contracts pushed the company's total order book to an all-time high of approximately Rs 19,400 crore, excluding framework contracts. The company stated that the strong order inflow provides significant visibility for future revenue.

The newly secured projects spanned several key international and domestic geographies. Internationally, WABAG won a major seawater reverse osmosis project in Kuwait and secured an order in Ajman, marking its entry into the United Arab Emirates market. In Europe, the firm secured a project from Donauinsel Water Works in Austria. In India, the company picked up new orders from the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board and the Delhi Jal Board.

WABAG also maintained its net cash-positive balance sheet for the 14th consecutive quarter. The company reported gross cash reserves at Rs 1,082 crore and a net cash position of Rs 965 crore, excluding hybrid annuity model assets.
