Video of Chief Minister Joseph Vijay's Son Recounting Kidnapping Incident Goes Viral

A video of Jason, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Joseph Vijay, recounting a childhood incident where he believed he was being kidnapped by an ardent fan has resurfaced and gone viral online. The clip of Jason sharing this experience from his school days has gained significant traction on social media ahead of his upcoming directorial debut.

In the video, which was recently shared by local media, Jason detailed how his father's security personnel were normally responsible for picking him up from school every day. However, on one specific day, an ardent fan of Joseph Vijay bypassed the security detail, arrived at the school, and took the young Jason away. Jason explained that he became extremely frightened during the incident, genuinely believing that he was being kidnapped.

The situation was resolved without harm, and Jason later recognized the same individual when he saw him on a film set. He explained that the fan did not have any malicious intent; rather, the man's only goal was to find a way to meet Joseph Vijay in person.

The resurfaced footage has sparked widespread discussion on social media platforms concerning the current relationship between Joseph Vijay and his children. This online conversation comes amid ongoing divorce proceedings between the Chief Minister and his wife, Sangeetha. Observers noted that neither Jason nor his sister, Divya, attended their father's official swearing-in ceremony or participated in his recent election campaign.

Further fueling the online discussion are reports that Jason has distanced himself from his father. He has reportedly replaced the initial "V" for Vijay in his name with "S", which stands for his mother Sangeetha's name. Jason has also unfollowed his father on Instagram.

At the same time, Jason is gearing up for the theatrical launch of his debut directorial project, 'Sigma', which is scheduled to hit theatres on July 31. The film, produced by Lyca Productions, features actor Sundeep Kishan in the lead role. The cast of 'Sigma' also includes Faria Abdullah, Raju Sundaram, and Sampath Raj in prominent roles.
