Victory Cinema in Bengaluru Refuses to Screen Vijay's Film Jana Nayagan

Victory Cinema, a prominent theatre located in Bengaluru, has announced that it will not screen the upcoming film 'Jana Nayagan', starring actor and Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu C Joseph Vijay. The decision follows a failure to reach an agreement on commercial terms with the film's producer, KVN Productions.

In an official statement released on their Instagram account, Victory Cinema explained that the terms requested by KVN Productions differed from the standard practices extended to other distributors in the industry. The theatre management stated that they were fully prepared to screen 'Jana Nayagan' under the same commercial terms they usually extend to all distributors, regardless of size.

"Thalapathy Vijay's 'JANA NAYAGAN' is not being screened at Victory Cinema. We know many of you were waiting to watch this film with us, and we were equally keen to bring it to our screen," the theatre's statement read.

"Unfortunately, the terms sought by the producer, KVN Productions, were different from these regular terms, and despite our best efforts, an agreement could not be reached. This was a difficult decision, made only after every effort to find common ground," the management added.

Despite the disagreement, Victory Cinema expressed goodwill towards the film's team. The theatre extended its best wishes to the makers of 'Jana Nayagan' and to Vijay for a successful theatrical run, writing that they sincerely wish the film great success at the box office. They also thanked their patrons for their unwavering love.

Meanwhile, actor and Chief Minister Vijay announced a new release date for the film through an official Instagram post, where he also unveiled a brand new poster. The update confirmed that 'Jana Nayagan' is scheduled to hit theatres on July 23.

Directed by H Vinoth, 'Jana Nayagan' is an official remake of the 2023 National Award-winning Telugu film 'Bhagavanth Kesari', which originally starred Nandamuri Balakrishna and Sreeleela. The new film stars Vijay alongside an ensemble cast including Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, Prakash Raj, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, and Narain.

The film's technical crew features music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan, editing by Pradeep E Ragav, and production design by V Selvakumar.
