Two Youth Die After Motorcycle Crashes Into Tree Near RK Pettai

Two young men died on Tuesday morning after the motorcycle they had hitchhiked a ride on crashed into a roadside tamarind tree near Rajanagaram, close to RK Pettai in Tiruvallur district. The accident occurred at a bend on the road when the rider of the two-wheeler lost control of the vehicle.
The deceased have been identified as 20-year-old S Madhan and 18-year-old V Devaraj. Both of the victims were residents of Narasampettai village, which falls under the Rajanagaram panchayat. The rider of the motorcycle, identified as 23-year-old V Jegatheesan, survived the crash with injuries. Jegatheesan is the elder brother of Devaraj.
According to the RK Pettai police, the incident began when Devaraj was waiting on the road to travel to his private polytechnic college located in RK Pettai. At the same time, Madhan was also waiting nearby for a bus to take him to his workplace.
Jegatheesan, who was riding past the area on his motorcycle, spotted the two youth and offered them a lift on his vehicle. The three individuals then began travelling together on the single motorcycle towards RK Pettai.
As they were travelling, the motorcycle reached a bend near Rajanagaram. The rider, Jegatheesan, allegedly lost control of the two-wheeler, causing it to veer off the road and crash directly into a roadside tamarind tree.
The impact of the collision was severe enough to throw all three riders off the motorcycle. The RK Pettai police stated that none of the three individuals on the two-wheeler was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Due to the force of the crash, both Madhan and Devaraj sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot. Jegatheesan sustained injuries during the accident and was subsequently admitted to a hospital to receive medical treatment.
Upon receiving information about the accident, the RK Pettai police arrived at the scene. The police recovered the bodies of the two deceased youth and sent them to the Tiruttani Government Hospital, where a postmortem examination was scheduled to be conducted.
