Two International Flights From Chennai Airport Delayed by Over Two Hours

A total of 454 passengers experienced long waits at Chennai Airport early Friday morning after two international flights bound for Abu Dhabi and London were delayed by over two hours. According to airport officials, the delays were caused by the late arrival of incoming flights, which consequently affected the outbound schedules.
The first affected departure was an Air Arabia flight bound for Abu Dhabi. This flight was originally scheduled to depart from Chennai Airport at 5:00 am. However, due to the late arrival of the incoming aircraft, the departure was pushed back, and the flight eventually took off at 7:30 am, representing a two-and-a-half-hour delay.
There were 186 passengers booked on the Air Arabia flight. Many of these travellers had arrived at Chennai Airport well in advance of their scheduled 5:00 am departure time. These passengers had already completed all of their check-in and security formalities before they were informed of the delay, resulting in a prolonged wait inside the terminal.
The second delayed service was a British Airways flight bound for London. This international flight had an original scheduled departure time of 5:30 am. Similar to the Abu Dhabi flight, this service was delayed due to the late arrival of its incoming aircraft and did not take off until 7:30 am.
The British Airways flight to London had 268 passengers on board. Like the passengers on the Air Arabia flight, these travellers faced a delay of two hours at Chennai Airport before their flight was cleared for departure.
Airport officials clarified that the delays were entirely due to the late arrival of the incoming flights. They confirmed that there were no technical or operational issues reported at Chennai Airport that contributed to the schedule disruptions. Both flights were able to depart safely once the incoming aircraft arrived and the necessary turnaround procedures were completed.
