Two arrested in Mahabalipuram for sexually assaulting 14-year-old girl

The Mahabalipuram police on Tuesday arrested two men under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl near Sadras, Mahabalipuram.

The accused have been identified as 20-year-old Maheshwaran and 28-year-old Ajay. According to police sources, both of the arrested men are residents of the same village as the survivor and were known to her family.

The incident occurred on Monday evening when the duo allegedly intercepted the minor girl near Sadras and assaulted her.

Following the incident, a complaint was filed with the local authorities. The Mahabalipuram police registered a case and swiftly traced the suspects, leading to their arrest.

The accused were produced before a local court on Tuesday and remanded to judicial custody.
