Two Arrested for Kidnapping Nolambur Lodge Owner Over Rs 15 Lakh Debt

Nolambur police have arrested two men for allegedly abducting and assaulting a 39-year-old lodge owner in Nolambur on May 29 over an outstanding debt of ₹15 lakh. The suspects also allegedly attempted to force the victim to transfer the ownership of his house to clear the unpaid loan.
The victim, identified as Priyadarshan, resides on Brindavan Avenue in Nolambur. According to police reports, Priyadarshan had borrowed a sum of ₹22.5 lakh from a creditor named Senguttuvan to construct a lodge. While he had successfully repaid ₹7.5 lakh of the borrowed amount, a debt of ₹15 lakh remained outstanding.
On May 29, the dispute escalated when three unidentified men intercepted Priyadarshan near his house in Nolambur. The men forced the lodge owner into a car, where they assaulted him before driving him to Senneerkuppam.
Once they arrived in Senneerkuppam, Senguttuvan confronted Priyadarshan. The creditor demanded that the victim legally transfer the ownership of his house to resolve the remaining ₹15 lakh debt.
Following the confrontation, the abductors confined Priyadarshan in a private lodge. He was later taken from the lodge and dropped near the Maduravoyal Bypass.
Following his release, Priyadarshan filed a formal complaint with the local authorities. Based on his statement, the Nolambur police registered a criminal case under kidnapping and other relevant sections of the law.
During the subsequent investigation, police officers tracked down and arrested two suspects. The arrested individuals have been identified as Vignesh, aged 34, and Kamal, aged 33, both of whom are residents of Senneerkuppam.
Both Vignesh and Kamal have been remanded in judicial custody. Meanwhile, the Nolambur police have launched an active search to locate the creditor, Senguttuvan, along with the other remaining suspects who participated in the abduction.
