TVS SCS and Japan's Sankyu Partner to Expand Supply Chain and Engineering Services

Chennai-headquartered TVS Supply Chain Solutions (TVS SCS) has signed an agreement with Japan-based logistics and engineering firm Sankyu Inc. to jointly pursue growth opportunities across supply chain and engineering services.

As part of the strategic agreement, Sankyu intends to acquire a 0.5 percent equity stake in TVS SCS, subject to the receipt of necessary regulatory approvals.

The collaboration is designed to combine the distinct strengths of both companies. It will integrate TVS SCS’s established supply chain network, existing customer base, and extensive operational presence across India with Sankyu’s specialized engineering expertise, logistics capabilities, and long-standing relationships with Japanese industrial corporations.

According to a statement issued by the companies, the joint initiative will initially focus on the Indian market. The alliance intends to target manufacturing and industrial clients by offering an expanded portfolio of integrated solutions. These services will encompass logistics, warehousing, transportation, engineering, maintenance, and comprehensive on-site industrial support.

The venture aims to leverage the substantial and expanding footprint of Japanese businesses in the country. More than 1,400 Japanese companies currently operate across India’s manufacturing and industrial sectors, representing a major potential client base for the combined service offerings of both organizations.

R. Dinesh, chairman of TVS Supply Chain Solutions, stated that the partnership will significantly strengthen the company’s core capabilities and enable it to deliver more comprehensive, specialized solutions to industrial and manufacturing clients across the country.
