TVK President C Joseph Vijay Meets New Defectors At Panaiyur Party Office

On Saturday, TVK president and Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay visited the party office in Panaiyur, Chennai, to meet with political leaders who recently defected from other parties and discuss the allocation of party posts.

The visit drew attention as the party's top brass began considering senior defectors, primarily from the DMK and AIADMK, for key organizational positions. Many of these new entrants, who joined over the past couple of weeks, have not yet been assigned official responsibilities within the TVK.

Among the prominent leaders who joined the TVK on Saturday was former AIADMK Minister Vaigai Selvan. After meeting with Vijay, Selvan spoke to the media about his shift to the party, expressing happiness over the meeting. He praised the Chief Minister, calling him a "gift to Tamil society," and criticized AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami for not respecting the party cadre.

Several defectors from the DMK also joined the TVK fold on Saturday. These included Sandeep, who is the son of senior DMK leader Jagathrakshan, alongside former MLAs V P Kalairajan and J Karunanidhi.

During his visit, Vijay held a brief interaction with some of the newcomers. His discussions with party leaders, who have been admitting defectors over the past few weeks, centered on how to distribute party posts to those who have chosen to join the TVK.

The Chief Minister's visit to the Panaiyur office has raised expectations among the new members. Many of them anticipate receiving organizational rewards for strengthening the TVK, especially after giving up their seniority and privileges in their previous parties.

Following the guidelines laid out by Vijay during the meeting, TVK leaders are now expected to make official decisions regarding appointments for the new entrants, who have defected from various parties including the DMK, AIADMK, and BJP.
