TTV Dhinakaran Slams TVK Administration Over Delimitation Stance

Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazhagam (AMMK) leader T T V Dhinakaran on Thursday criticised the TVK administration in Chennai for altering its stance on delimitation, coming just days after the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly passed a resolution demanding that the Union government freeze the current strength of the Lok Sabha.

Dhinakaran said that Chief Minister Vijay's speech at the Southern Zonal Council indicated a shift in stance, which he claimed had exposed a political drama orchestrated to distract the public from pressing issues confronting the state.

According to Dhinakaran, the government had convened a meeting with alliance Members of Parliament on August 8 and subsequently rushed a resolution against delimitation through the state assembly on August 12. However, he noted that Chief Minister Vijay presented a contradictory statement shortly thereafter.

Dhinakaran alleged that the administration was resorting to grandstanding to divert public attention after failing to deliver on key election promises made to farmers and the general public.

He added that instead of staging resolution dramas, the Chief Minister must stop shifting goalposts and focus on constructive action that genuinely serves the interests of Tamil Nadu and its people.
