Traffic Diversions Implemented in KK Nagar for GCC Storm Water Drain Works

The Chennai city traffic police have implemented temporary traffic diversions in the KK Nagar area to facilitate storm water drain construction. The infrastructure work is being carried out by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) on PT Rajan Road. The traffic changes are scheduled to remain in force from July 13 to November 10.

During this construction period, vehicular movement on Jeevanandham Salai will be completely prohibited. The closure is expected to cause disruptions and alter regular routes for commuters who travel through this part of KK Nagar.

According to the traffic police, vehicles travelling from the KK Nagar Bus Terminus towards PT Rajan Road will not be allowed to enter Jeevanandham Salai. Additionally, motorists proceeding towards Anna Main Road to access Jeevanandham Salai will be restricted from entering the road and will be diverted to alternative routes.

To assist commuters, the traffic police have outlined specific diversion routes. Motorists travelling from the KK Nagar Bus Terminus towards Jawaharlal Nehru Road via Anna Main Road must proceed along Anna Main Road, continue to the Ashok Pillar Junction, make a left turn onto Jawaharlal Nehru Road, and then proceed to their destinations.

The traffic diversions aim to manage vehicle flow while the GCC completes the essential drainage works on PT Rajan Road over the coming months.
