TNSTC to Operate Special Buses From Kilambakkam, Koyambedu Between Aug 27 and 30
The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) will operate special bus services from major Chennai terminuses, including Kilambakkam, Koyambedu, and Madhavaram, between August 27 and August 30 to accommodate high passenger demand during upcoming weekend holidays and auspicious wedding days.
According to a press release from the transport corporation, the advance information is intended to help passengers book their tickets early and avoid last-minute rush and travel inconvenience.
From the Kilambakkam bus terminus, TNSTC will operate 380 special buses on August 27. The frequency will increase significantly over the following days, with 1,140 buses scheduled for August 28 and 1,020 buses planned for August 29. These services will connect Chennai to multiple destinations, including Thiruvannamalai, Tiruchi, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and Tirupur.
From the Koyambedu terminus, 130 buses will run daily between August 27 and August 29 to destinations including Thiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru. Additionally, the Madhavaram terminus will see the operation of 90 buses each day during the same three-day period.
Beyond Chennai, a total of 200 special buses will be operated from Bengaluru, Tirupur, Erode, and Coimbatore to various destinations over the three days. To facilitate the return journey of passengers back to the state capital, the transport corporation has scheduled 690 buses to run to Chennai from various parts of Tamil Nadu on Sunday.
