TN Police Arrest 1,577 Offenders and Execute 3,288 Warrants in State Drive

Police across Tamil Nadu jailed 1,577 offenders and executed 3,288 non-bailable warrants during a state-wide operation conducted from July 29 to August 11. The intensive enforcement drives were carried out as a proactive and preventive policing measure to maintain law and order across the state.

According to a press release issued from the office of Director General of Police Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, police personnel checked a total of 52,279 history sheeters and bad characters involved in criminal offences throughout Tamil Nadu. Following these continuous checks and surveillance operations, 1,577 of the monitored individuals were arrested and jailed.

The focus of the enforcement drive was directed at history sheeters, rowdies, non-history sheet offenders, bad characters, and absconding accused involved in various criminal activities.

Following the drive, instructions were issued to all Commissioners of Police in cities, Superintendents of Police in districts, and special unit officers to continue intensive monitoring. Police officers have been directed to maintain regular checks, preventive measures, and close surveillance over rowdies, habitual offenders, bad characters, and anti-social elements to prevent criminal activities and maintain law and order across the state.
