Three Youngsters Killed in Head-on Bike Collision Near Sriperumbudur

Three young men were killed and another sustained critical injuries following a head-on collision between two motorcycles near Sriperumbudur in Kancheepuram district on Sunday. The accident took place on the service road of the Chengalpattu-Sriperumbudur state highway, close to a private hospital.

According to the Oragadam police, the deceased have been identified as 26-year-old Durai Pandian, 23-year-old Yuvaraj, and Darshan. Monish, who suffered severe injuries in the crash, is currently receiving intensive care at the Chengalpattu Government Medical College Hospital.

Police said Durai Pandian, a native of Madurai, worked as an HR manager at a private firm situated in Vallam Sipcot. Yuvaraj, who hailed from Panruti, was employed at the same company. On Sunday, both of them had visited a cinema theatre in Oragadam to watch a movie and were riding back towards Vallam when the crash occurred.

At the same time, Monish, a native of Erode, and his friend Darshan were travelling in the opposite direction on another motorcycle. The two two-wheelers collided head-on near the private hospital, leaving all four occupants severely injured on the road.

Emergency responders transported all four victims to the Sriperumbudur Government Hospital in a '108' ambulance. Durai Pandian and Yuvaraj succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the facility.

Given the severity of their condition, Monish and Darshan were subsequently referred and shifted to the Chengalpattu Government Medical College Hospital in separate ambulances. Darshan died while being transported to the hospital, while Monish remains under intensive treatment.

The Oragadam police have registered a case regarding the incident and sent the bodies of the deceased for post-mortem examinations.
