Three Dead, One Injured in Head-On Two-Wheeler Collision Near Sriperumbudur

Three people were killed and another person sustained critical injuries after two motorcycles collided head-on near Sriperumbudur on Sunday evening.

The incident took place along the service road of the Chengalpet–Sriperumbudur highway when two employees of a private firm in SIPCOT were returning to their residence in Vallam. The deceased were identified as 26-year-old Duraipandian from Madurai, who worked as an HR manager at the firm, and his co-worker, 23-year-old Yuvaraj from Panruti. The duo had gone to a theatre in Oragadam to watch a movie prior to the accident.

According to the police, the two men were travelling on their motorcycle along the service road. When they reached the vicinity of a private hospital, another two-wheeler coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with their vehicle. The two occupants travelling on the oncoming motorcycle were identified as Monish, a native of Erode, and his friend Darshan.

All four individuals sustained severe injuries in the impact of the crash. Passersby and emergency responders assisted in shifting all four victims to the Sriperumbudur Government Hospital for initial medical attention. Doctors at the facility declared Duraipandian and Yuvaraj dead upon arrival.

Monish and Darshan, both of whom were in critical condition, were referred and shifted to the Chengalpet Government Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. Police stated that Darshan succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital on the way.

The Oragadam police have registered a case regarding the fatal road accident. The police recovered the bodies of the three deceased individuals and sent them for postmortem examinations as part of the ongoing investigation.
