Thirumavalavan Defends Personal Friendships, Reaffirms Opposition To BJP In Kancheepuram

During his address at a party event in Kancheepuram on Saturday, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) chief Thol Thirumavalavan spoke out against what he described as deliberate attempts by certain forces to weaken his leadership by distorting his speeches.
Thirumavalavan asserted that the criticism he faces is driven by political hostility and that several individuals are actively targeting him out of animosity. According to the VCK chief, these opponents are aiming to destroy his leadership by continuously accusing him of being indecisive and inconsistent in his political decisions.
Thirumavalavan also addressed the criticism he received over his comments about maintaining cordial ties with DMK leaders, despite being part of the ruling TVK-led government. He clarified his stance by stating that his critics are failing to differentiate between personal relationships and political positions.
As an example of maintaining relationships across political lines, Thirumavalavan revealed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had called to greet him on his birthday. He noted that he thanked them for their calls, emphasizing that such gestures represent personal friendship beyond politics.
Thirumavalavan firmly maintained that these personal connections do not impact his political beliefs. He declared that his ideological opposition to the BJP and sanatana dharma remains firm. He concluded by stating that he would continue to oppose any practices that discriminate against people on the basis of birth, caste, and language.
