Thazhambur Officer Rajasekar Under Inquiry for Using Seized Motorcycles

A special sub-inspector attached to the Thazhambur police station has come under scrutiny after a special inquiry team from the Tambaram Police Commissionerate discovered he was using seized motorcycles for his personal commute. The officer, identified as Rajasekar, had kept two vehicles connected to criminal cases at his residence on East Coast Road (ECR).

According to police sources, several vehicles that had been seized in connection with various criminal cases were parked and kept at the Thazhambur police station. Officers recently noticed that Rajasekar had taken one of these seized motorcycles and was regularly using it for his daily commute and other personal tasks.

The situation escalated after a video showing the sub-inspector riding the seized vehicle was recorded and circulated by another police officer. The circulation of the video prompted senior officials to take note of the misconduct.

Following the video's release, a special police team from the Tambaram Police Commissionerate launched a formal inquiry into the officer's actions. As part of the investigation, the team conducted a search at Rajasekar’s residence on East Coast Road.

During the search, the inquiry team found and recovered two motorcycles connected to criminal cases. Rajasekar had reportedly been using both of these vehicles for his daily commute to the police station. The special team subsequently seized both motorcycles from his home.

During questioning by the inquiry team, Rajasekar admitted to using the seized motorcycles for the past six months. He defended his actions by stating that he resorted to using the vehicles because his own personal motorcycle was under repair. He also claimed that he had decided to return the vehicles at the earliest.

The inquiry report has now been officially submitted to the Tambaram Police Commissionerate. Officials stated that departmental action is pending and will be taken against the sub-inspector based on the findings of the inquiry.
