Tamilisai Lauds CM Vijay in Orikkai for Exposing DMK in Live Assembly Telecast

Tamilisai Lauds CM Vijay in Orikkai for Exposing DMK in Live Assembly Telecast

Speaking at Orikkai in Kanchipuram on Monday, Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan lauded Chief Minister C. Joseph, stating that he had brought out the corrupt activities of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam with evidence in the Legislative Assembly. She asserted that the Chief Minister was forcing the DMK to run out of the Assembly by exposing their corrupt practices detailed in the Sarkaria Commission report.

Tamilisai addressed reporters during a public event in Orikkai, where she presided over the wedding of 11 poor couples organized on behalf of the Hindus trust. Highlighting political developments in the House, she stated that the DMK held a dharna protest specifically because the Assembly proceedings were being telecast live to the public.

The BJP leader commended the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam for facilitating the live telecast of the Assembly proceedings, recalling that she had been advocating for this demand over the past ten years. She noted that the Chief Minister was presenting documented actions of the DMK on the floor of the House, thereby compelling the opposition party to stage walkouts.

Referring to past administrative inquiries, Tamilisai said that the Sarkaria Commission had clearly documented that the DMK was involved in scientific corruption, pointing to matters such as the Veeranam scam. The project, intended as a scheme to bring drinking water to Chennai from Veeranam lake in Cuddalore district, was later successfully implemented by AIADMK leader J. Jayalalithaa.

Tamilisai observed that youth watching the televised Assembly proceedings would develop a healthy fear of corruption, realizing that such wrongdoings would inevitably come out in the open at any time. She stated that public figures should be afraid of corrupt activities and that politics in the future should remain free of corruption.

While noting that she holds contrary views regarding the TVK, Tamilisai remarked that the act of exposing the DMK remained laudable. However, she emphasized that she could not accept the TVK entering into an alliance with the corrupt Congress party.
