Tambaram Corporation Launches Month-Long Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drive

The Tambaram City Municipal Corporation (TCMC) launched a month-long anti-rabies vaccination (ARV) drive targeting stray and pet dogs across the city on Saturday. The municipal initiative is being conducted under the guidance of the civic body’s public health department to prevent the spread of rabies and protect both residents and animals.

Vaccination teams will visit different wards within the Tambaram corporation limits to administer the ARV vaccine to dogs. According to municipal officials, the vaccination drive will continue on all working days throughout August and will be provided entirely free of cost.

Civic authorities have appealed to local residents to extend their cooperation to the vaccination teams during ward visits. The corporation has also requested pet owners to bring their dogs to local vaccination camps organized in their respective areas to ensure their pets are vaccinated.

According to the corporation, regular vaccination of dogs is crucial for reducing the overall risk of rabies and ensuring safety for both people and animals.

In addition to the vaccination campaign, the civic body plans to conduct targeted awareness activities. These initiatives will focus on educating local residents and school students about rabies prevention and responsible dog care across the municipality.
