A 24-year-old construction supervisor was robbed of cash and his mobile phone at knife-point on Friday evening after being lured into an auto-rickshaw near the Perambur railway station and taken to a secluded area in Sembium.

The victim, identified as Ashok Kumar, is a native of Bihar who lives in Nungambakkam and works as a construction supervisor in Chennai.

According to reports, Kumar had arrived at the Perambur railway station on Friday evening with the intention of traveling back to his hometown in Bihar.
