Sumadhura Group to Invest Rs 400 Crore in Logistics Park at Redhills

Diversified real estate company Sumadhura Group announced an investment of Rs 400 crore to establish an industrial and logistics park at Redhills in north Chennai. Spread across 52 acres, the project will offer 1.2 million square feet of warehousing space, marking the developer's maiden venture into Chennai after establishing residential and commercial projects in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

The upcoming facility is scheduled to be fully operational by June 2028. According to the company, the park is designed along the lines of its Grade A logistics park at Hoskote in Bengaluru, which is currently leased to firms such as Amazon, Zepto, and Zomato.

Madhusudhan G, Chairman and Managing Director of Sumadhura Group, stated that the company entered Chennai with an industrial and logistics project to capitalise on warehousing opportunities driven by the Chennai Peripheral Ring Road and the city's three ports. He added that the group plans to invest around Rs 4,000 crore across its markets in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad over the next 18 months, and will explore local residential and commercial opportunities depending on land availability.

Vamshi Karangula, Director of Industrial and Logistics at Sumadhura Group, noted that the Chennai project is already drawing interest from manufacturers, including wind blade producers and auto original equipment manufacturers, as well as third-party logistics players. The site is also positioned to cater to quick-commerce and e-commerce companies.
