Southern Railway Announces Special Trains Between Tambaram and Velankanni

The Tiruchirapalli Division of Southern Railway has announced the operation of weekly special express trains between Tambaram and Velankanni to clear the passenger rush expected during the upcoming Velankanni festival.

Train No. 06037 Tambaram-Velankanni weekly express special is scheduled to depart from Tambaram at 11:50 pm on August 24, August 31, and September 7. The train will arrive at Velankanni at 7:45 am the following day.

In the return direction, Train No. 06038 will depart from Velankanni at 12:45 am on August 26, September 2, and September 9, reaching Tambaram at 7:30 am the next morning.

The special service will comprise eight sleeper class coaches, 11 second class coaches, and two luggage-cum-brake vans or divyangjan-friendly Amrit Bharat coaches.

En route, the train services will halt at several stations including Chengalpet, Villupuram, Cuddalore Port, Chidambaram, Mayiladuthurai, Karaikal, Nagore, and Nagapattinam in both directions.
