Six-Year-Old Boy Killed After Tanker Hits Two-Wheeler on Ennore Expressway

A six-year-old boy was killed on Sunday morning after a tanker lorry hit a two-wheeler from behind near Palagathottikuppam on the Ennore Expressway.
The deceased has been identified as K Monish Aadhav, a Class 2 student at a private school in Tiruvottiyur. Police said he was the only child of his parents. His father, Karthick, is a small-time actor in the Tamil film industry, while his mother, Maria, is a homemaker.
The incident took place at around 11.40 am when Monish was travelling with his mother on the two-wheeler from their residence in New Washermenpet to Tiruvottiyur for an errand. According to the police, neither the mother nor the child was wearing a helmet at the time of the journey.
As they were passing near Palagathottikuppam, the tanker lorry approaching from behind rammed their two-wheeler, throwing both mother and son onto the road. The lorry then ran over the boy's hip, resulting in his death on the spot.
Maria sustained injuries in the crash and was admitted to the Government Stanley Hospital, where officials stated that her condition is stable. Monish's body was also transferred to the same hospital for a postmortem examination.
The police registered a case in connection with the fatal accident and arrested the lorry driver, identified as Sundaravel (45), a resident of Maduravoyal. Further inquiry into the incident is currently underway.
