Ramraj Cotton Sets Asia Book of Records Feat with 30-Foot Dhoti Pookalam

Ramraj Cotton has entered the Asia Book of Records for creating the largest pookalam display made out of dhotis, titled 'Mundukalam', as part of Onam celebrations.

The massive installation, measuring 30 feet in diameter, was assembled using approximately 3,000 dhotis at Forum Mall in Kochi on August 9. The unique arrangement blended Kerala's traditional floral carpet design with the brand's signature garment.

The official Asia Book of Records recognition was presented by Sanjay Bhola, adjudicator for the Asia Book of Records. The award was received by K.R. Nagarajan, founder and chairman of Ramraj Cotton, alongside B.R. Arun Eshwar, managing director of the company.

Speaking about the milestone, Nagarajan stated that designing a Mundukalam with nearly 3,000 dhotis allowed the brand to unite the spirit of the Onam festival and the legacy of the traditional dhoti in a single celebration.

The display served as an innovative festive attraction, reinterpreting traditional floral art through textile craftsmanship to mark the Onam season.
