Railway Police Release Images of Suspects in Tamil Nadu Express Torso Case

Railway police have released CCTV footage images of a man and a woman who abandoned a decomposed and dismembered body inside a red suitcase on the Tamil Nadu Express, before fleeing on a suburban train towards Tambaram.
The incident came to light after the Chennai-New Delhi Tamil Nadu Express reached Agra on August 5. Railway authorities discovered the abandoned red suitcase in an unreserved coach of the train. Inside was the decomposed torso of an unidentified man, with the head and portions of the limbs missing. Following the discovery, the Uttar Pradesh Government Railway Police registered a case and sought assistance from their counterparts in Tamil Nadu to trace the origin of the crime.
Subsequent investigations and a review of surveillance footage at Chennai Central railway station revealed that a man and a woman, the latter wearing spectacles, had brought the suitcase onto the platform two weeks ago. The two suspects were seen loading the red suitcase into the unreserved coach of the Tamil Nadu Express and exiting the train before it departed the station.
Police tracking the suspects' exit route found that the pair walked over to Chennai Park railway station immediately after leaving Chennai Central. Surveillance footage confirmed that they boarded a suburban train heading towards Tambaram. Images released by the police capture the man and woman travelling on the suburban train and continuing their movement without the red suitcase.
