Photography Banned at Namakkal Anjaneyar Temple from August 15

Taking photographs and recording videos using mobile phones and cameras will be prohibited at the Namakkal Anjaneyar Temple starting from August 15.

The measure comes following actions initiated by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department. The department moved to enforce restrictions after receiving complaints regarding the increased recording of videos and reels inside temple premises.

In addition to the ban at the Namakkal shrine, the HR&CE department has announced a comprehensive ban on carrying mobile phones into major temples across Tamil Nadu, set to take effect from September 1.

To accommodate visitors and secure their belongings, locker facilities are currently being installed at the entrances of temples. Devotees will be required to safely store their mobile phones before entering.

A fee of Rs 5 per mobile phone will be collected for utilizing the locker service, and receipts will be issued to visitors upon deposit.
