Perumbakkam Man Arrested for Stalking Woman in Virugambakkam

The Virugambakkam police have arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly stalking, harassing, and threatening a 24-year-old woman in Virugambakkam after she ended their friendship.

The complainant, who lives in a rented house in the Virugambakkam locality of Chennai, had become acquainted with the accused a few months ago through social media. Police identified the accused as Arjun, a resident of Perumbakkam.

According to the police, the woman later stopped communicating with Arjun due to his behaviour and severed contact with him. Angered by her decision to end the friendship, Arjun repeatedly went to her residence in Virugambakkam to harass her.

The harassment escalated when Arjun began contacting the victim's parents. Police reported that he threatened her parents and demanded that the woman marry him. During these communications, Arjun threatened that he would end his own life if the woman refused his marriage proposal.

Following the continuous harassment at her residence and the threats made to her family, the woman lodged an official complaint with the Virugambakkam police.

Based on the complaint, the Virugambakkam police registered a case against Arjun and subsequently arrested him.
