Palani Murugan Temple Records Highest Annual Revenue of Rs 103.24 Crore

The Dhandayuthapani Temple in Palani recorded its highest-ever annual revenue of Rs 103.24 crore during the 1435 revenue year, which ran from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. The temple administration confirmed that this is the first time the prominent Tamil Nadu pilgrimage centre's annual income has crossed the Rs 100 crore threshold.
The record-breaking figure represents a notable increase from the temple's financial performance in previous years. In the preceding year, the temple's total revenue stood at Rs 97.32 crore. According to financial records released by the temple administration, the revenue in the two years prior to that was recorded at Rs 86.06 crore and Rs 80.62 crore, respectively, showing a consistent year-on-year growth in income.
Temple officials attributed the financial milestone to the massive influx of pilgrims. On average, approximately 1.20 crore devotees visit the Palani Murugan Temple every year.
A major contributor to the record revenue was the sale of the temple's famous Panchamirtham. During the 1435 revenue year, devotees purchased Panchamirtham worth a record-high Rs 63.16 crore, according to figures released by the temple administration.
The revenue generated by the temple plays a critical role in supporting its extensive welfare programs. The temple administration provides a range of free services for visitors and the local community. These initiatives include the daily distribution of free meals (Annadanam), free head tonsuring services, and the distribution of prasadam to devotees.
Additionally, the temple funds free meal schemes specifically for students who are studying in various educational institutions run directly by the temple administration. Over the past five years, officials stated that the temple has provided these various free welfare services worth a total of approximately Rs 140 crore.
