Over 13000 Chennai Candidates to Take Tamil Nadu TET Exams This Weekend

Over 13,000 candidates in Chennai are preparing to take the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) Paper 1 and Paper 2 examinations at local centres this weekend. The Teachers Recruitment Board is conducting the state-wide exams on Saturday and Sunday to test the eligibility of in-service teachers.

State-wide data shared by the Teachers Recruitment Board reveals that a total of 2.29 lakh candidates will participate in the weekend exams. The examinations are split across two days, with Paper 1 scheduled for Saturday and Paper 2 scheduled for Sunday.

On Saturday, 61,386 candidates will write Paper 1 at 222 examination centres across Tamil Nadu. Within Chennai, the Teachers Recruitment Board has set up 12 examination centres to accommodate 3,561 candidates appearing for the first paper.

On Sunday, the number of candidates increases as 1.67 lakh teachers take Paper 2 at 613 centres across the state. In Chennai, Paper 2 will be conducted at 37 examination centres for 10,156 registered candidates.

The Teachers Recruitment Board has established strict timing guidelines for all candidates. Test-takers are required to report to their respective examination centres between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM on both Saturday and Sunday. To facilitate entry, hall tickets for the in-service teachers have been uploaded and made available on the official Teachers Recruitment Board website.

Special arrangements have also been made for candidates with disabilities. A total of 4,472 persons with disabilities are registered to take the examinations over the weekend. This group includes 1,321 candidates appearing for Paper 1 on Saturday and 3,151 candidates appearing for Paper 2 on Sunday.

To support these candidates, the Teachers Recruitment Board has appointed 727 scribes across the state. Of these, 126 scribes have been designated to assist candidates during the Paper 1 exam, while 601 scribes will assist candidates during the Paper 2 exam on Sunday.
