OMR and Chennai schools adopt AI platforms to automate progress reports and test analysis

Schools on OMR and across Chennai are increasingly adopting mobile and web-based AI-powered enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms to automate progress reports, analyze student test performance, and deliver real-time updates to parents. Prominent institutions, including an International Baccalaureate (IB) school on OMR and the Velammal Bodhi Campus, have integrated these digital tools to streamline communication and enhance academic transparency.
For parents like R Vidya, whose son is a Class IX student at Velammal Bodhi Campus, the shift has changed how they monitor academic progress. Vidya no longer has to wait for her son to update her about his performance in unit tests or assignments. Instead, an app provided by the school directly notifies her about his performance, while offering an assessment of his strong and weak points along with insights into subject-wise specifics.
In addition to receiving updates, students can also take tests directly on the app, which are designed by the school itself. To maintain transparency, the school uploads report cards, internal assessments, and attendance details directly to the platform.
Several Chennai schools are adopting these mobile or web-based AI-powered ERP tools, with platforms like My Classboard and Neverskip leading the transition. These platform providers charge schools on a per-student basis. In addition to academic tracking, the platforms inform parents about homework, fees, and transport, creating a direct communication space for parents and teachers.
The technology relies on feeding answer keys into the system, which then analyzes the answer sheets to offer insights, such as language comparisons. While the setup requires initial backend work from teachers, the platforms are rapidly evolving.
According to a teacher at a prominent IB school on OMR, the AI systems are designed to recognize patterns over time. Once a pattern is identified, the platform automatically provides academic analysis without requiring teachers to manually refer to answer sheets. School heads have noted that the streamlined communication is a major advantage of the new system.
