NHAI Clears 350 Parked Vehicles Along EMRIP and Chennai-Tada Roads

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched an enforcement campaign to clear vehicles parked along the Ennore Manali Road Improvement Project (EMRIP) roads and the Chennai - Tada National Highway.

The drive targets vehicles that occupy the shoulders and margins of these key corridors, which restrict space meant for moving traffic, according to a press release issued by the authority.

Over a period of 45 days, highway patrol teams identified and directed 350 trucks, vans, and other vehicles encroaching upon the carriageways to vacate the stretches.

To ensure sustained compliance, the NHAI has forwarded the details of the offending vehicles to the relevant Regional Transport Authorities and local police departments.

Officials stated that appropriate enforcement measures, including the issuance of e-challans wherever applicable, will be initiated against the vehicle owners by the transport and police authorities.
