More Body Parts Found in Guduvanchery House in Tamil Nadu Express Murder Case

Police on Friday recovered additional body parts believed to be those of a 38-year-old woman from a rented house on Mosque Street in Guduvanchery, weeks after her decomposed remains were discovered in a trolley bag aboard the Chennai-New Delhi Tamil Nadu Express in Agra.

The deceased has been identified as Hayathun Nisha, a native of Odisha who was employed at a private firm and residing in Guduvanchery. Police are currently searching for two suspects, identified as Manik Uddin Laskar of Assam and his partner Bhagabati Majhi of Odisha, who are on the run.

Based on leads gathered during the investigation, police teams searched the rented accommodation on Mosque Street on Friday and recovered further body parts stored inside a large vessel. Nisha had allegedly been staying at the residence alongside the couple.

According to police sources, Nisha had been in a relationship with Laskar. Her son had objected to the relationship and, following an argument with his mother, had moved out to live separately. When Nisha went missing, her son lodged a complaint, leading the Guduvanchery police to register a missing person case. Following subsequent discoveries, a murder case was registered, and special police teams were formed to track down the suspects.

The case originally came to light on August 5, when an unattended red trolley bag containing decomposed human remains was discovered inside a general compartment of the Tamil Nadu Express after it arrived at Agra Cantonment railway station at around 5 a.m. A passenger had alerted railway authorities after noticing a foul smell and liquid seeping from the luggage.

Subsequent CCTV footage from Chennai Central railway station showed a man and a woman carrying the red trolley bag and placing it aboard the train. Investigators tracked the pair's movements back to the rented house in Guduvanchery.

The remains recovered from the Guduvanchery property have been sent for forensic examination to confirm whether they belong to Nisha and match the body parts recovered in Agra. Police also denied reports that appeared in certain media outlets claiming that the suspects attempted to cook the remains. Further investigation remains under way.
