MK Stalin Urges DMK Cadres in Chennai to Stay Ready for Potential Early Elections

Former Chief Minister M K Stalin on Sunday urged DMK cadres to remain prepared for potential early elections during an address at the DMK headquarters in Chennai. Speaking at a party event, Stalin heavily criticized the ruling TVK administration, claiming that Tamil Nadu is in danger of descending into a deep mess within just a month of the recent regime change.

The address took place during an event organized at the Chennai headquarters to induct members of other political parties into the DMK. Stalin told the gathered party workers that assembly elections could take place at any time in the state, making it necessary for the cadres to stay poll-ready.

During his speech, Stalin raised serious concerns over the state's current security and economic climate under the TVK government. He claimed that industrial units are now reluctant to invest in Tamil Nadu and are actively preferring to set up operations in other states instead.

Stalin also criticized the law and order situation, alleging that sexual assaults, burglaries, and murders have become widespread across the state. He added that members of the ruling TVK party are themselves accused in many of these reported crimes.

The former chief minister contrasted these conditions with the DMK's previous tenure in government. He stated that Tamil Nadu had witnessed unprecedented growth under the DMK administration, driven by the regular launch of new welfare and development programmes. According to Stalin, global companies chose to invest in Tamil Nadu due to their confidence in the DMK government, which subsequently created large-scale employment opportunities.

In contrast, Stalin pointed out that the state now faces daily power outages, while farmers in the delta region are in deep distress. He criticized the current government for being unbothered by these pressing issues, alleging that the administration is running in a "take diversion" mode. Stalin concluded by stating that the people of Tamil Nadu have now realized they made a mistake by voting the TVK into power.
