Minister P Madhanraja Calls for CSR Impact Dashboard at IIT Madras Summit

Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises P Madhanraja on Sunday called for the establishment of an impact dashboard to measure the outcomes of corporate social responsibility initiatives, speaking at the CSRNOW TINYLOOP 2026 CSR summit held at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

Addressing attendees at the summit, the minister emphasised that corporate social responsibility should be evaluated based on tangible social impact rather than financial expenditure alone. He noted that moving beyond spend metrics would provide a clearer picture of how initiatives benefit communities.

Madhanraja suggested that the proposed dashboard could capture key outcome metrics, including the number of youth trained and employed, as well as the number of women who achieved financial independence through specific CSR projects.

He advocated for a structured approach to social spending, urging organisations to build initiatives supported by modern digital systems. The minister stated that CSR should be built with a digital spine, where every major intervention carries three essential components: technology, measurement, and sustainability.

During his address, the minister invited participating organisations to direct investments toward the Ottapidaram constituency in Tuticorin district, which he represents. He described the area as a constituency with significant potential alongside pressing development needs.

Madhanraja urged corporate leaders to contribute resources beyond simple financial aid, inviting them to bring technology, mentorship, and market access directly to the districts to foster sustainable growth.

Highlighting the broader state roadmap, the minister noted that the chief minister has outlined an ambitious vision for Tamil Nadu to build a $1.5 trillion economy by 2036.
