Marie Wilson Alleges Corruption in School Permissions in T Nagar Under DMK Rule

Finance minister Marie Wilson alleged on Monday that corruption took place in granting permissions to private schools during the previous DMK government, claiming that he directly paid money in T Nagar as an affected party.

Speaking during the debate on the demand for grants for school education and higher education, Wilson stated that the school education department collected money from private institutions under the earlier administration.

Wilson told the House that he was an eyewitness and directly impacted by the practice. He said that the former school education minister was free to file a defamation suit against him if desired.

During his remarks, the finance minister asserted that he could disclose the specific amount of money he paid in T Nagar, as well as details regarding the sums collected from minority schools across the state.

Following the remarks in the Assembly, Anbil Mahesh strongly criticized Wilson's statements while speaking to reporters at the DMK headquarters.

Mahesh pointed out that both offering a bribe and receiving one constitute punishable offenses under the law. He questioned how the Speaker permitted the statement to be made inside the House.

Mahesh announced that a formal complaint would be filed against the minister regarding the allegations made on the floor of the Assembly.
