Man Arrested After Stabbing Live-In Partner to Death in Anna Nagar East

A woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her live-in partner in Annai Sathya Nagar, Anna Nagar East, following a domestic dispute over an alleged extramarital affair in the early hours of Thursday, June 11, 2026. The suspect surrendered to the local police shortly after the incident.

The victim has been identified as Shanthi, a divorcee. According to a senior police official, Shanthi had been living with her partner, N. Rajendran, at their residence in Annai Sathya Nagar in the Anna Nagar East area for the past few years.

The fatal incident was preceded by a dispute between the couple on Wednesday night, June 10, 2026. During the argument, Shanthi allegedly accused Rajendran of being involved with another woman. The argument escalated into the early hours of Thursday.

Police reports indicate that an enraged Rajendran allegedly attacked Shanthi, stabbing her to death with a kitchen knife inside their home.

Following the stabbing, Rajendran walked directly into the Anna Nagar police station and surrendered to the police officers on duty. He informed the police about the altercation and the subsequent killing.

Based on the confession and details provided by Rajendran, a police team rushed to the residence and recovered Shanthi’s body. The body was subsequently sent to the Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The police have arrested the suspect, and a senior police official confirmed that further investigation into the case is currently under way to ascertain all the details surrounding the dispute and the death.
